Anthony R. Fernando (RPh, MBA, PhD) is a Senior Consultant at Visante with over 25 years of strategic leadership experience in pharmacy, hospitals, health systems, and managed care.
Before joining Visante, Anthony held transformative leadership roles as Director of Pharmacy, System Director of Pharmacy, and Executive Director of Pharmacy. Anthony has held strategic leadership roles in managed care as Population Health Lead Strategist and Director of Clinical Consulting.
Throughout his career, Anthony has worked for large companies like Cardinal Health, United Health Group, Roswell Park (NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center), a regional managed care organization, community hospitals, and community pharmacies.
Over the years, Anthony has successfully launched several new programs and services in hospitals, health systems, and the payer-provider space. At an executive level, Anthony has led numerous business/clinical, operational, patient safety, population health, and managed care strategic initiatives. Additionally, Anthony has over 15 years of experience in client engagement, account management and sales.
Anthony completed a Fellowship through the Advisory Board in Washington, DC, in 2019. The 18-month program prepares leaders to successfully navigate the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Anthony served as a member of the pharmacy leaders team at the ADCC (Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers). The ADCC is made up of America’s premier cancer centers. While at Cardinal Health, Anthony was recognized by FUSE, the corporate innovation engine and product development center, as a finalist for a new business idea he presented in a “Shark Tank” style format. He was also awarded a Cardinal Health “All-Star Award for Director of Pharmacy.”

Anthony earned his pharmacy degree and MBA at the State University of New York in Buffalo and his doctorate in Health Policy at D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY.
