Charles Ham
Senior Consultant

Charles Ham, Pharm.D., M.B.A., has extensive expertise in acute care clinical pharmacy practice including outsourced pharmacy management, expanded service models, reducing and containing costs, clinical pharmacy program development, implementation of systems and programs to impact drug utilization, improving medication safety and providing clinical and financial outcome documentation.

Prior to his role at Visante, Charles held the position of Director of Clinical and Regulatory Services within the hospital division at PharMerica Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for clinical pharmacy program development and implementation, as well as supporting and ensuring all state and federal required compliance standards were met.

Before this, Charles spent 22 years in various positions at Cardinal Health. Most recently Charles held the position of Director, Quality Services where he managed a group of subject matter experts in the areas of clinical pharmacy practice, accreditation, patient safety, and regulatory management. He led initiatives to provide and disseminate information and management strategies designed to improve the safe use of medicines, as well as guidance and recommendations impacting accreditation and medication management issues.  As a Vice President, Clinical Affairs from 1999-2010, Charles led a team of clinical subject matter experts in the development of clinical programs, therapeutic positioning and strategic planning for a system of 200 plus managed hospitals throughout the country. He managed the clinical review of new products with a purchasing budget in excess of $800 million dollars annually. In this role, Charles also managed performance driven market share agreements delivering significant reductions in the cost of goods to managed hospitals.

Charles did his undergraduate work at California State University, Long Beach, obtained an MBA from Pepperdine University, School of Business and Management, and a Pharm.D. degree from the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy.
