Colleen Connelly (MPH, RN) provides Visante’s clients with guidance and insight into areas that are critical to patient care, safety and outcomes. She also brings practical counsel in creating a culture of safety and preventing drug diversion. Her experience and deep knowledge of nursing best practices gives clients advantages in product design, development, marketing, adoption and successful use of a product or device.

Colleen brings in depth knowledge of inpatient nursing operations, standards and compliance, patient safety and multiple unit redesigns. Her commitment to nursing quality has been proven by sustained outcomes that included an 82% decrease in CLABSI and 84% in CAUTI. She has a strong understanding of the challenges and realities of medication management, medication errors and medication safety.

Prior to joining Visante, Colleen was Senior Nursing Director for Critical Care, AirMed and the Emergency Department at the University of Utah Health Hospital. She was responsible for all aspects of nursing operations in this level 1 trauma center, stroke and STEMI receiving facility for four specialty intensive care units, two emergency departments and eight helicopter bases in two states and a critical care internship. In addition to overseeing delivery of clinical care and quality, she was responsible for all aspects of the annual budget for these areas. This involved overseeing an operating budget of $142 million in revenue and $80 million in expense plus a staff of over 800 employees.

Colleen received her Masters in Public Health at the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University
