David Deshotels (MBA, RPh) is a Senior Consultant with Visante. He brings extensive expertise to Visante clients in all aspects of home infusion and specialty pharmacy services, specifically in business design, workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. David’s vast experience in this area greatly enhances hospitals and health system’s overall financial and patient care goals.

Before joining Visante, David held Director of Pharmacy positions with national and regional infusion companies, including United Healthcare and Vital Care Infusion Services. David gained expertise in Regulatory Compliance and USP 797 guidelines during his role as Compliance Officer and Performance Improvement Manager while leading organizations through multiple successful ACHC, Joint Commission, and Board of Pharmacy surveys and inspections. Throughout David’s successful 30-year pharmacy career, he was responsible for creating nearly a dozen business startups, including Home Infusion and Specialty Pharmacies, Medical Reference Laboratories, and the establishment of two multicenter Clinical Trial Management Organizations.

David’s expertise in Home Infusion Pharmacy is extensive. Key areas of focus include market analysis, business planning, sales generation, workflow optimization, and revenue cycle management.

David is a member of ASHP and NHIA and has presented at multiple pharmacy conferences, discussing his published article on the cost of providing Infusion Therapy. David earned his BS in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana Monroe and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University, graduating with honors.
