Heidi McNeely (MSN, RN, PCNS-BC) is a Visante Consultant with more than 17 years of experience in the nursing profession, specifically focused in pediatrics.
In her role as a Drug Diversion Prevention Officer at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Heidi developed a comprehensive interdisciplinary drug diversion prevention program. She is also the co-chair for the nursing peer review committee, the clinical lead for fall prevention, nursing ambassador for the Center of Innovation, and is involved in other quality improvement projects and research specific to nursing and the professional practice of nursing in a pediatric hospital setting.
Heidi is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and previously worked in an Advanced Practice Nurse role on a 48 bed medical unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado. In this position, she provided clinical guidance and education, participation in the oversight of clinical practice, and assisted in quality improvement initiatives. She was the clinical lead for an organizational wide enteral tubing standardization project, and participated in several hospital wide committees, including Clinical Policies and Procedures, Professional Development, as well as Medication Safety and other patient safety initiatives.
Heidi held several previous roles, including a pediatric nurse at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, a travel nurse and nurse program supervisor at Tri-County Health Department.
She is a member of the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, the International Health Facility Diversion Association and the Society of Pediatric Nurses. Heidi received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She received her Master of Science in nursing with a focus in Pediatric Special Needs from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado.
