Lisa Boothby (PharmD, MBA, BCPS) is a healthcare executive with over 18 years’ experience in large and small for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare systems. Lisa is an engaging, energetic leader with vision that motivates interdisciplinary teams to work collaboratively to exceed goals. Formerly, she was Vice President of Pharmacy and Ancillary Services at Dukes Hospital/Lutheran Health Network in Indiana.
Lisa was responsible for ensuring the clinical, regulatory, quality, and financial success for Pharmacy, Outpatient Clinics, Cardiology, Cardiopulmonary, Laboratory, Radiology, and Therapy Services. During her tenure, Lisa implemented an interdisciplinary medical grand rounds program, a comprehensive therapeutic interchange program, and an antibiotic stewardship program. Pain management for inpatients was improved while ensuring interdisciplinary compliance with controlled substance policies and procedures. All medication management regulatory standards including USP 797 were met with no joint commission citations in 9 years.
Prior to relocating to Indiana, Lisa was the Coordinator of Drug Information Services for Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Columbus, Georgia. Her nationally recognized Drug Information Center supported the clinical and administrative functions of the department of pharmacy services for the health care system. Lisa was the director of the ASHP accredited PGY2 Drug Information Residency program, a preceptor for the PGY1 Pharmacy practice residency program, and a voting member of the IRB. Lisa had several volunteer clinical faculty appointments with affiliated colleges of pharmacy including the rank of Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Auburn University..
Lisa is a past editor of the Pharmacy Bulletin, the GSHP Newsletter, Southern Medical Journal, and the Drug Safety Journal. She is past president and the former VP of Governance and Leadership for the United Way of Miami County. She served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross, Junior Achievement, the System of Care and the Substance Abuse Prevention Council. Lisa was past chair of ACCP’s Drug Information Practice and Research network.
With 74 Publications and 132 presentations to her credit, Lisa has a passion for teaching, research, scholarship, and service. Interviews with local ABC and NBC affiliates regarding medication safety were commonplace while Lisa was with Columbus Regional. She has provided continuing education for state and national healthcare organizations including Indiana Rural Health Association, Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Florida Pharmacy Association, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
After graduating with Honors from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Lisa completed a Drug Information and Clinical Practice residency with Columbus Regional Healthcare System and Auburn University. Lisa is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy, with pharmacy licenses in Florida, Georgia, and Indiana. Lisa attended ASHP’s Pharmacy Leadership Institute. She obtained a Master of Business Administration, Concentration in Finance from Indiana University.
