Rebekah Silberhorn (PharmD, BCPS, BCOP) is an experienced leader in informatics with big picture vision, and deep knowledge of clinical pharmacy, pharmacy operations and IT systems. As a clinical and industry pharmacy expert she works with leaders across health systems to achieve strategic goals and improved outcomes.
Prior to joining Visante, Rebekah was Pharmacy and Research Informatics Supervisor at Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). She worked with the Chief Officer and VP of Research to establish system standards for operations, informatics and clinical integration into the EHR. She was a pharmacy leader in clinical decision support leading to guideline-driven patient care at all hospitals within BSMH. Leading projects, she worked closely with pharmacy leadership to implement system changes to improve patient care throughout the health system including inventory management, medication standardization, pump integration, formulary management and clinical pharmacy initiatives.
Before this, she was a pharmacy informatics specialist for Mercy Health (prior to the merger with Bon Secours). She was a team leader with broad pharmacy knowledge including neonatal and pediatric care, pediatric and adult oncology, medication safety and pharmacy operations. She mentored, trained, and supported the pharmacy informatics team members and worked closely with other IT teams to achieve outcomes.
Previous to pharmacy informatics, Rebekah was a pediatric, neonatal, and oncology clinical pharmacy specialist at St Vincent Mercy Medical Center & Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo Ohio. She was the pharmacy expert on the Pediatric Investigational Review Board (PIRB), the pediatric board and P & T. Focusing on medication safety she led projects in pharmacy automation, close system transfer device, EHR standardization and build, pediatric and neonatal TPN system build, and standardization of medication dispensing for the pediatric and neonatal populations. She also participated in various Lean Six Sigma projects to improve and standardize processes.
Rebekah completed her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 in Pharmacy Practice at St. Charles Mercy Medical Hospital/St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with a strong focus on medical and ICU care. In addition, she has achieved Board Certification from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP).
