Visante 
Christopher J. Maksym, PharmD, FNHIA has over 36 years of experience in home infusion, specialty pharmacy and site of care strategy, and has contributed to the provision of Visante consultant services since 2017.
Chris was previously the Director of Pharmacy, HomeMed, University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine – Home Care Services, and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the U of M College of Pharmacy. He was a member of the start-up team that established HomeMed, an alternate site home infusion and specialty pharmacy at the University of Michigan, and served as HomeMed’s Chief Pharmacist beginning in 1992.
In addition, Chris served as Director of Operations for the University’s home durable medical equipment and supply service, MedEQUIP, and complex rehabilitation equipment service, Wheelchair Seating Services, from 2005 - 2015, and launched and served as Director of Operations of the health system’s home care retail businesses from 2011 - 2016.
Chris has been involved in the training and education of countless students. He served as an experiential training and research investigations preceptor and lecturer for Doctor of Pharmacy students at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and as a mentor for the Michigan Pharmacy Foundation (MPF) Health Professional Leadership Academy.
Chris's leadership in professional organizations has been profound. Chris is Chair of the Michigan Pharmacy Foundation (MPF) Board of Directors and a member and past Chair of the National Home Infusion Foundation (NHIF) Board of Directors. Chris is currently a Director on the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Board of Directors. He previously served as Chair of the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) Board of Directors, Vice-Chair and Secretary. Chris has also served on the Boards of Michigan Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Michigan Consultant Pharmacy Society, and the Michigan Pharmacists Association.
Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and completed a Clinical Pharmacy Residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Center
